Description

A.LILYPAD BUZZER

- The [LilyPad Buzzer](https://www.sparkfun.com/products/8463) lets you create different noises using code when attached to a LilyPad Arduino. Send the buzzer a series of tones, and you can make musical melodies, special effect sounds, alarms, and more. This buzzer isn't very loud, but will be audible in close range to your projects. In this tutorial, we'll demonstrate how to hook up to a LilyPad Arduino and how to use the tone() function in Arduino to make sounds.

The LilyPad Buzzer is different than a speaker that plays audio, if you are looking to make a project that loads and plays music, we recommend the [LilyPad MP3](https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11013).

B.LILYPAD TRICOLOR LED RGB

- The [LilyPad Tri-Color LED](https://www.sparkfun.com/products/8467) is a specialty board that can produce a variety of colors. On the board is an RGB (red-green-blue) LED, made of three tiny LEDs connected together. Each of the colors in the RGB LED are connected to one of the sew tabs on the board labeled as R, G, and B.

C.LILYPAD LIGHT SENSOR

- The LilyPad Light Sensor is a sewable breakout board with an ALS-PT19 light sensor built in and ready to use right away. Each sensor outputs voltage between 0V and 3.3V depending on the level of ambient light shining on it. As more light is applied on the sensor, more current will flow from the board through the signal tab to the microcontroller you connect the sensor to. If the sensor receives no light, no current will flow through it. In a typical indoor lighting situation, the sensor will output around 1 to 2V. Adding this board into your next e-textile or wearable project will really open up the possibilities by being able to incorporate light level sensing capabilities.

[LilyPad](https://www.sparkfun.com/lilypad_sewable_electronics) is a wearable e-textile technology developed by Leah Buechley and cooperatively designed by Leah and SparkFun. Each LilyPad was creatively designed to have large connecting pads to allow them to be sewn into clothing. Various input, output, power, and sensor boards are available. They're even washable!
