Overview
Optical dust sensor (GP2Y1014AU0F) is particularly effective in detecting very fine particles, such as cigarette smoke.
And it is a common air purifier system.
In the device, an infrared light emitting diode and a phototransistor are diagonally arranged to allow them to detect dust reflected light in the air.
The sensor has a very low current consumption (up to 20 mA, typical 11 mA), and can carry up to 7 VDC sensors. The output voltage is proportional to the measured dust concentration, and the sensitivity is 0.5V/0.1mg/m3.

Detection principle
